60 students from five high schools across the region put their problem-solving skills to the test at MidCoast Council’s Youth Hackathon for Sustainability on Thursday 22 February. 

The unique event invited students to work together in teams to develop solutions to one of three sustainability-related challenges facing the MidCoast.

St Clare's had two teams enter the hackathon made up of Year 11 Chemistry students who represented our school very well.  Students addressed the issue of storm water contamination in our region and came up with some very creative and scientific solutions. 

The students were required to present their ideas to a panel of judges in front of the crowd of both students and experts in the field.  The students were a credit to our school community and are to be congratulated for their outstanding efforts:
