TAS Faculty – Hospitality and Food Technology
It has been a busy few weeks in the TAS Faculty in Hospitality and Food Technology.
Year 10 and 11 Hospitality students have been practicing their cutting skills with fruit salad and tempura vegetables. Tempura vegetables also taught them to make and use a simple batter including the use of the deep fryer.

Year 10 Food Technology students have been looking at current food trends and healthy recipes making no nut protein balls, chia puddings and healthy butter chicken.
Year 9 Food Technology students have been looking at food safety and how the body absorbs and processes food. They have enjoyed making chicken rice paper rolls, ham and pineapple pin wheels and a demonstration on how to make sauerkraut, increasing good probiotics into the diet for the gut microbiome.

Year 7 and 8 students have been developing basic cooking skills with recipes such as mixed berry muffins, fried rice, chicken fajitas and ricotta demonstrations.

What was your child’s favourite recipe? Please contact the TAS Faculty if you have any suggestions.
