Dio Theatresports 2024
15 Year 9 and 11 Drama students attended the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese Theatresports competition at St Pius X High School, Adamstown on Thursday, 7 March.
In the lead up to the competition, Drama students learned and practised the rules of each improvisational game and performed their improvisations in front of their peers.
10 Schools in the Maitland-Newcastle Catholic Diocese, ranging from Stage 4 to Stage 6 students, participated in the Theatresports interschool competition.
Teams of four to five participated in three rounds of Theatresports involving improvisations such as Commercials, Props, Typewriter and Shared Story. St Clare’s students who attended the competition performed in front of an audience of approximately 200 students. This experience gave our students the opportunity to observe the range of talents and approaches to improvisation as well as build their confidence performing in front of a sizeable audience. All students were exemplary in their behaviour and representation of St Clare’s High School.
Congratulations to St Joseph's, Lochinvar and St Pius X, Adamstown who were joint winners of this year’s Theatresports competition.
