Netball NSW Schools Cup - North Coast Regional Finals
The North Coast Regional Netball Finals took place on Wednesday, 27 August. We were fortunate to have warm and pleasant conditions - especially welcome after the stretch of rain and cold weather leading up to the event. It was a fantastic day of competition, with our teams showing great spirit and determination. Below is a summary of each team's performance and highlights from the day.
Junior Girls
Our 7/8 Girls team had a fantastic day at the School’s Cup in Manning, where their hard work and success earned them a place at the next stage in Port Macquarie. The girls played some truly beautiful netball, combining skill with great teamwork and genuine mateship as they encouraged and supported one another every step of the way. They showed determination, resilience, and joy in every game, proudly representing our school both on and off the court. The day finished with two strong wins and two hard-fought losses, but more importantly, with plenty of fun, laughter, and lasting memories.
Junior Girls Team: Luca Brown, Darcy Miller, Milla Simpson, Indie Simpson, Aliza Ryan, Anayah Wetere-Smith, Isabella Garland, Zoe Holstein and Indiana Zahra

Intermediate Girls
The intermediate girls played some fantastic netball throughout the day. We took away some great wins and some close loses. The sportsmanship both on and off court was wonderful to see. The girls maintained a constant competitive and driven play throughout every match of the day. A major highlight and success for the day was convincingly taking away the win against a much-rivalled Gloucester team in the final playoff round for the day. The girls are to be commended for a successful and great day of competition.
Intermediate Girls Team: Yasmin Cassidy, Annabelle Laurence, Alice Phillps, Charlotte Andrews, Gemma Paulin, Addison Hogan, Lucy Millard, Abby Moelker, Miller Morrissey and Charlotte Cooper

Intermediate Boys
The boys were competitive throughout the day, showing great sportsmanship and fair play in every match. We dropped one game in the rounds to SCAS, but that result still saw us through to the semi-finals. Facing MacKillop in the semi was expected to be a tough challenge, but the boys stepped up and secured a strong 26–14 win to earn their spot in the grand final - once again against SCAS. It was a tight and intense match, with both teams pushing hard. Our boys held their nerve and came away with an 11–7 victory, crowning them North Coast Champions for the Year 9 & 10 boys in 2025. An amazing achievement! The team now progresses to the State Finals at Netball Central, Sydney Olympic Park, taking place on 28 November 2025. There will be lots of training over the next few months as we prepare for the tournament.
Intermediate Boys Team: Dallas Agnew, Jagger Wallis, Leo Beckton, Triston Brody, Henry Doyle, Henry O’Connell, Tom Davy, Angus Moore, Harry Martin, Cade Van Ewyk-Campbell and Samuel Stephens

The teams represented St Clare’s with pride, integrity, and determination - making our whole community proud with their conduct both on and off the court. Best wishes to our Intermediate Boys as they prepare for the State Finals; we will be cheering you on every step of the way!

Diocesan Basketball Gala Day
On Thursday 4 September the Year 9-10 girls’ basketball team travelled to Broadmeadow for a Diocesan gala day. The girls represented St Clare’s with pride, unfortunately going down to Trinity College in the semi-finals. All students should be proud of their spirited performances on the day. Thank you to all parents for support with transport and also to our staff who accompanied/coached students on the day.
