Year 7 Reflection Day
On Monday 22 September, Year 7 and several teachers travelled to Old Bar Surf Lifesaving Club to participate in their Reflection Day for 2025. We were blessed with beautiful weather.
We arrived at the Surf Club and began the day with a Paraliturgy. I would like to thank Will Lovern, Hudson and Nate Marriott for volunteering and reading so well.
We then talked about the expectations for the day, and the students were placed into groups by Mr Buckland.
Morning tea followed and then the groups were sent off to their activities. Each group had about 20 minutes on each activity. These included: Games in the park with Mr Hutchison; colouring in and card games in the surf club with Mr Koenig; beach games with Mr Higgins; sand modelling with Mrs Brown; beach walk and clean-up with Mrs Merillo and a swim with Mrs McCann and the Lifeguards.

A sausage sandwich and drink was supplied for lunch – thanks to Mr Buckland and Mr Higgins for getting this ready.
There was a small amount of time for a free swim and then the day concluded with the students writing a letter to themselves which will be opened when they get to the end of Year 12.
Some of the students missed out on doing this and Mr Buckland will be arranging for them to complete this letter.
The students were wonderful and participated well in all the activities. They spent time getting to know each other better and it was lovely to see the interactions happening. This is a great indication of things to come.
I would like to thank Year 7 for the way in which they participated and interacted with each other.
I would also like to thank all the staff who gave up the day to be with the students. Mr Hutchison, Mr Koenig; Mr Higgins; Mrs Brown; Mrs Merillo and of course Mr Buckland, the Year 7 Leader of Wellbeing.
Thanks again to everyone.
