HSIE/LOTE
Last week in 7-1 Geography, we finished our topic on Place and Liveability with an assessment. Our task looked specifically at what makes a place really pleasant to live in and what makes a place not so good to live in. Students investigated one of the top ten most liveable cities and compared it to one of the bottom ten liveable cities. Some great work was evident through their production of AVDs (Annotated Visual Displays).
This week, we begin the second topic, Landscapes and Landforms. Already we have discussed some of Australia’s amazing landforms including Uluru, The Pinnacles, Wave Rock, Jenolan Caves and The Twelve Apostles. As we continue, we will look more broadly at landscapes that are familiar to the students with an emphasis on river and coastal landscapes.
