The final edition for 2021- Wow! Where did that go?
I am going to begin this edition with an email that Mr Masters sent to all Year 12 2021 Graduates containing some very important information:
- You have access to email until the start of February 2021, it would be great if you check it from time to time.
- Many of you have picked up your sign-out forms, but are yet to return them. Part of the sign-out process is also returning your library books. Many of these books are urgently needed by the Year 11 students and they are needed back ASAP. Can you make this a priority for next week (The earlier the better, as you might remember Mrs Kelly is retiring and is hoping to have all her loose ends tied up). (A copy was attached to the email you received for you to print out at home - parents will need to sign it). Thanks to those who have already completed this process.
- Your ATARs are released on Thursday, 20 January, and your HSC results are released on Monday, 24 January.
- Between receiving your ATAR and the 24th, we’re asking that you send a text message or email with your ATAR and your intention for next year. For some of you, it might be: “ATAR 83, Bachelor of ___________ at Newcastle University”. For others, it might be: “Non-ATAR, pursuing an electrical apprenticeship or gap year working at Coles”. Whatever it might be, we’d love to know the path you’re taking. This can be emailed or sent via text to either myself or Mrs McCann.
- Tim Masters: 0421 961 043
- Karen McCann: 0408 144 453
- Mrs McCann and I are also super happy to be used as referees for your jobs. You have both our emails, and you can use our numbers. Just send us a message to say you’ve popped us down so we can expect the call.
- On 24 January, Mrs McCann and I will be on site from 8 am to 11:30 am. If you want to pop in to say, ‘Hey’ we’d love to hear from you. The staff carpark will be open, and we’ll probably set up in the conference room in the main office. This is the day we celebrate your results – the more the merrier!
- One of our super results is already in, Morgan Gao has been selected to participate in OnSTAGE for his individual Drama performance. The young man you voted, ‘most likely to become a celebrity’ is going to performing in front of millions of people next February. Congratulations!
- Photographs: Callam Howard did a super job with our formal photos, please make sure you download them. We can’t get a link to your parents as Compass has removed you all, but if you could please pass this on, I’m sure they’d love to see the images.
- Photographs 2: We have our Memory Lane OneNote, if you would like to download it, you can. You select File à Export à (Select Entire Notebook) and you can download it as a PDF or as a OneNote.
- On Tuesday, 8 February we are holding our Dux Assembly. If you think this might be you, can you tentatively write this date down. We’d love you to attend to receive your award. I’d also love for many of our Year 12s to be on site if you’re around as a catch-up and for you to talk to and discuss your experiences with the Year 11/12 students. Obviously, many of you are moving away, but if you’re local at the time, GREAT!
Thanks Mr Masters for doing such an excellent job with this cohort. I am looking forward to seeing their results and finding out what pathways they will pursue post school. I am more than happy to assist whenever possible so please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any help.
The Year 12 Grad was excellent. Congratulations, Year 12, on completing your schooling!
I am very hopeful that Work Experience will be back on the table in 2022, COVID Restrictions willing. I will keep you posted in early 2022 and I will have the paperwork ready to go.
I would like to thank all the employers who have taken our students for Work Experience and Work Placement this year when it was able to occur. You have provided our students with an excellent opportunity to see what the ‘world of work’ is really like. Thank you.
