Principal's Report

Dear Parents & Friends of St Clare’s

I hope all in your family are safe and well and that you have found time to enjoy our beautiful weather.

The onset of winter has seen some beautiful sunny days and some very cold winter nights which makes the current Vinnies Winter Blanket Appeal very timely for those in need.  St Clare’s Vinnies group is actively seeking the support of our community via a blanket drive and student mufti day on Wednesday, 22 June.  The blanket drive reflects the strong message of social justice of our Josephite ethos and CLARE framework and is a tangible expression of our Catholic tradition of helping those in need.  Vinnies would welcome new and second hand blankets that have been cleaned.  They can be dropped off at the office at any time.
A reminder that Friday, 1 July will be a pupil-free day.  Staff will be attending a Professional Development Day about developing culturally sensitive school environments for indigenous students.

This week’s newsletter gives a wonderful overview of the many and varied opportunities for learning that St Clare’s offers the young people in our care.  The newsletter also celebrates student success and gives a great insight into our staff’s commitment to providing a stimulating and challenging learning environment for your sons and daughters.  Extra special congratulations to all St Clare’s students who participated in the Taree Eisteddfod and DioSounds.  They performed beautifully and represented the school community with great poise.  Thanks to staff members Amanda Brooks and Matt Hanlon for their commitment and support of the students over many extra hours of rehearsal and travel.

St Clare’s recent celebration of World Environment Day is a further sign of the school’s commitment to bearing witness and protecting God’s creation.  My thanks to staff member Niko Campbell-Ellis and the St Clare’s Environmental Group for their great work in leading activities on the day.  Special mention to staff member Callam Howard for his excellent photos.
