Australian Mathematics Competition

The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) will take place on Thursday, 4 August (Week 3, Term 3).  It is an expectation that all students in the top classes of Years 7 to 11 enter, however, we welcome any student who enjoys problem solving or those who would just enjoy a challenge.  We encourage all students to ‘give it a go’.  

If you are interested, please speak to your Mathematics teacher to get a permission note.  This needs to be signed and returned to a member of the Mathematics Faculty before Wednesday, 22 June.

Here is an example of the type of problem that you could expect to solve:

"Consecutive numbers are written on five separate cards, one on each card.

If the sum of the smallest three numbers is 60, what is the sum of the largest three numbers?"

Maths Workshop

Mathematics Workshop provides the opportunity for every student to obtain assistance and support in improving their understanding of Mathematics.  In the lead up to topic tests, assignments and general homework, a number of Mathematics Teachers are available each week.  There is no need to stay the whole of lunch, come and go as you see fit.  We mark a roll for parents and you may eat your lunch during your time in Room 10.
