‘Tell Me A Story’ is a primary school story writing and illustration competition conducted in primary schools across the Manning and Great Lakes region.  This year saw the 5^th running of the event which has grown to the extent that the 2022 annual display and awards presentation afternoon was split with Tuncurry Hall and St Clare’s High School Josephite Centre being hosts.

Tell Me A Story Presentation

In this competition, schools are allocated topics from which a student chooses one and produces a creative writing script.  Students from that school are invited to illustrate each story.  Entries in both sections are judged by a panel of retired teachers, writers and artists with feedback being given to each writing entry.  

From more than 300 entries across two categories (Years 3-4, Years 5-6), those scripts and illustrations which have been judged as the most meritorious are compiled into an anthology of children’s writings and published in a book which students, families and members of the public can purchase.
