Martin Luther King once said “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?”  The community of St Clare’s participates in many activities within the wider community and one such activity is the involvement of Year 10 students in the Community Kitchen.  Students, Amy Rowell, Oliver Mitchell, Phoebe Hinchliffe and Jade Coe along with Mrs Ryan, volunteered at the Community Kitchen last week.  They experienced what is involved in serving 67 meals to people in need.  As well as preparing and serving meals, they also had an opportunity to give additional food to families in need.

Oliver is to be commended on his creative culinary skills and it was pleasing to see Amy, Phoebe and Jade through their pleasant and caring natures, together with their friendly smiles, make the people coming to the kitchen feel at ease.  One gentleman said “You have made my day.”  Thank you Mrs Ryan and students, I look forward each month to sharing a rewarding experience with the St Clare’s community.
