Dear Parents, Caregivers and Friends of St Clare’s
Welcome to St Clare’s final school newsletter for 2022.
The last weeks of Term 4 bring many opportunities and new beginnings into the life of the St Clare’s community. Senior students complete their studies and look to life outside school, parents and children transition from primary to secondary settings, and students move into new areas of choice and responsibility.
The recently held reflection days in Years 7 and 9 and the Year 10 social all mark significant emotional, spiritual, and physical development within individuals and their cohort. The growth and development of Year groups and their realisation that their wellbeing and mutual success is dependent on right relationships and the spiritual growth of each person, is a powerful learning that will serve each person throughout their lives.
Teamwork between parents, students and staff, which finds expression at Parent meetings, masses, award ceremonies, special projects like Heart to Heart and other celebrations ensure that these transition points are navigated successfully and in the best interest of the young people in our care. Such collaboration is a hallmark of Catholic education and recognises that each person is gifted, able to learn and touched by the hand of God.
A little further into this newsletter you will find a summary of the 2022 HSC results. I am very proud of the cohort and their teachers and parents for the way in which they have worked together to ensure great outcomes across a wide range of areas of study. We will update the community when post school careers are shared with staff at the school.
I would like to thank all members of the community, students, parents, and staff for their support over the course of the year and will be thinking of you all as I undertake leave in 2023.
I know you will support Mr Phillip Gibney in his role of St Clare’s Principal for the 2023 school year and wish the school executive of Theresa Avery, Assistant Principal Learning and Teaching, Marian Parvin Assistant Principal, Wellbeing, Jason Koenig Ministry Coordinator every success as they work and serve the school community across the year.
God Bless
Peter Nicholls
