A well-known quote of Mary MacKillop is “Find happiness in making others happy.”  Year 10 students have the opportunity to put these words into action by being involved in the Community Kitchen. Gemma, Rory, Joshua and Claire volunteered for the kitchen last Friday and brought happiness to the marginalised people of our community.  As the cost of living increases, the Community Kitchen becomes an important place for people to access a hot meal and basic food items.

The people attending the kitchen were met with the smiling faces of the students.  Many of the clients at the kitchen commented on how wonderful it was to see the students preparing and serving meals.  The extras the students served including bags of lollies and chocolate muffins added to the diner’s experience.  The students created three different meals and served 100 meals.  Well done students and staff of St Clare’s.
