What a busy start to Term 3 for the Hospitality Department.

We welcome our new group of Year 7 and 8 students.  Through the next two terms they will be exploring different cooking experiences such as bruschetta, chocolate brownies, making ricotta from milk and then turning it into gnocchi plus much more.  During this time, they will also be learning about plant needs, tending to the school vegetable garden and beef and milk production through the Paddock to Plate Program.

They have already enjoyed making and eating a simple Tomato Bruschetta.

Year 10 and 12 Hospitality Students had an extremely busy Week 2.  With two different catering events.

On Wednesday, 26 July students assisted catering to local Elders, students and staff in celebration of NAIDOC Week.

 

Students prepared a variety of native foods including crocodile, kangaroo, emu and utilised school grown lemon myrtle in several sweets.  The team worked well together during the event.

The next day students assisted in catering for the local CareerQuip Expo held on the riverbank.  With 200 morning tea boxes and 200 lunch boxes prepared, cooked and displayed for the volunteers and stall members at the Expo.

A huge thank you and congratulations to these students for your assistance and professionalism during these crazy two days and functions.
