Geography students from St Clare’s tested their geographical skills and knowledge against students from all around Australia in the 2023 Australian Geography Competition.  We had a number of student geographers at our school who performed very well in the Competition this year with three high distinctions, four distinctions, two credits and four students who received participation awards. 

Nearly 70,000 students from across Australia entered the Australian Geography Competition so the results provide us with an external benchmark as to how are students are going in certain aspects of geography. 

Rachel Honey, the Competitions National Coordinator said, “The Competition aims to encourage student interest in geography and to reward student excellence.” 

“Geography is an important subject because it brings together the physical and human dimensions of our environment, helping students to develop a deeper understanding of our world and the challenges it faces,” said Mrs Honey. 

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Competition.
