NRL Summer 7's

Congratulations to our U14’s boys and both our U16’s girls and boys Rugby League teams, who travelled to Port Macquarie for the NRL Summer 7’s Gala Day on Tuesday, 28 November.  All teams displayed exceptional skill, resilience, and sportsmanship in every match, delivering remarkable performances and highly entertaining Rugby League displays.

U14 Boys

St Clare’s 14's Boys orchestrated a try-scoring spectacle, dominating the 14's Boys division with a trifecta of victories.  Their offensive prowess was on full display, starting with a commanding 16-0 win over Camden Haven High School in the first round.  The team continued their impressive run with a strategic 12-4 triumph over St Paul's College in the second round and a resounding 24-8 victory over Mackillop College in the third round.  The boys showcased slick plays, solid tackles, and strategic manoeuvres across all their pool matches.  Despite no finals for this age division, St Clare’s 14's Boys left a lasting impression with their dominant performances throughout the tournament.  Well done, boys.

U16 Boys

In the 16's Boys division, St Clare’s journey began with a narrow 12-8 loss to Melville High School, a setback that fuelled their determination.  The team orchestrated a powerful comeback in the second round, securing a commanding 24-16 victory over St Paul's College.  In a pivotal semi-final clash against crossroad rivals Chatham High School, the match concluded in a tense 12-12 draw.  Despite St Clare’s holding a 12-4 lead with less than 5 minutes to play, Chatham High School secured a place in the final by scoring the first try of the match.  St Clare’s resiliently displayed defensive grit and unwavering determination and should be proud of their efforts across the day.

Finally, heartfelt gratitude is extended to Mrs Polson and Mrs Harris, as well as the attending parents and those students who served as water runners.  Their time and dedication in training, coaching, and supporting our team is truly appreciated.  Without their outstanding and tireless efforts, events like this would not be possible.
