These students gained skills, experience and nationally recognised qualifications in basic and more advanced resuscitation, radio usage, first aid, surf rescues including rescue tubes, rescue boards, spinal boards as well as motorised surf rescue crafts.
Elise was awarded the Bronze Medallion, Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate, First Aid Certificate and Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew Certificate.
Not yet old enough to be award the Bronze Medallion, Mitchell and Isaac were awarded the Surf Rescue Certificate.
Instructor, Ric Brennan, said that parents, families and schools should be proud of the achievements of the group. In offering further commendation, Ric said, “Turning up week after week says much about their dedication and character. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of their journey. It is also great to welcome some younger people onto active patrols so that their further progress can be mentored by our more experienced life savers and, later, to play this supportive role to young people themselves.”
