Year 8 Design Portfolio – “From the Page to the Stage”
The English faculty are thrilled to share the remarkable achievements of our Year 8 students in the recent assessment task for the module "From the Page to the Stage." This task involved students developing a Design Portfolio that showcased their ingenuity and dedication to bringing a dramatic text alive on the stage.
The task at hand was no small feat; with students reading and analysing a dramatic text and then designing sets, costumes, make-up and promotional material to show their understanding. These portfolios offered a vivid display of their ability to transform words into living, breathing performances.
Throughout the design process, our Year 8 students worked to weave their critical and creative skills seamlessly into their projects. As part of the task, student were required to annotate their work allowing them to clearly articulate their dramatic vision and offer insights into their interpretive choices, character development, and staging ideas.
This outstanding selection of portfolio pieces from Georgia Sparks received 100% for the incredible innovation, commitment to design process, sophisticated insight into play studied and clearly articulated dramatic vision. Exceptional work, Georgia.
